As the sun sets.

Image
Original Watercolor painted on location 2020 .  As the day ends and the sun prepares to descend below the horizon, the coldness of another winter night sends chills through my being. This sketch was finished on location just as the sun was setting.  The paints freezing on my pallet and brush were a challenge the entire time.  I’ve since learned that a little vodka helps, and it also helps the wash water not freeze.  ðŸ˜‚ Happy painting!

Light through the darkness

Image
The “Peace Candle” in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on a snowy and rainy afternoon. The monument is symbol of hope and peace. A light through the darkness, a beacon in a world that never needed its light more than it does now.  Watercolor sketch in Stillman and Birn journal.

Christmas time is here

This year I decided to use some natural wood slices as a canvas for some small watercolor paintings. They turned out to be lovely tree ornaments. Getting ready for Christmas 2024. Should have many to offer. 🎄
